Dear Friends,
I wanted to bring you up to date with the charity’s news.
Firstly, after five years of doing the We Will Meet Again show, the chairman and trustees have decided not to continue and will not be associated with any other show that may be launched bearing a similar name.
As you know, the Foundation is a charity and cannot be involved in any commercial venture, although we are allowed to accept donations in the usual way.
We will be continuing to raise money throughout the coming year with other events, so we would value your continued support.
Our next event is the film A Canterbury Tale being shown at Exeter University on12 November at 7.15pm, so please let everyone know in case they are in the area. All support would be welcomed.
With our colleagues in France, we continue to work on improving the Hill 112 site.
Our aim this coming year is to improve the paths and edges, to improve the area within the tree rings and to lay a membrane to restrict weeds and improve moisture retention. We will be covering the area with gravel to enhance the general look and improve the background for the veterans' plaques. We also aim to improve irrigation, build a small wall around Albert’s memorial, restrict weed growth and improve access - so we have plenty to do!
We will, of course, be attending events in the coming year to advertise the charity and sell plaques, DVDs, books and memorabilia, all of which make a wonderful contribution to our fund raising. With Christmas coming, please place your orders early!
We wish you all a wonderful festive season and a very happy new year and look forward to seeing you again in 2026.
Warmest regards
Annette, Heather and Fred
